Eligibility Criteria

The following information defines the eligibility criteria which must be met to be considered for the Junior Vardon Trophy.

- Players must be a JNJG Tour Member.

- Players must play a minimum number of 25 rounds.

- Players must play a minimum of 1 JNJG Major Event.

- Players must play a minimum of 1 Golf NSW Event.

- Players must play a minimum of 1 National Championship Event.

- Players must play a minimum of 1 National Men’s Ranking Event.

- The remaining rounds can be made up of a combination of all events, including selected Open Vardon Events.

- To be eligible to win the Junior Vardon Trophy, a player must participate in the minimum number of rounds before their 18^th birthday.

(Example – Peter turns 18 on April 23^rd. If he has passed all eligibility criteria and played the minimum number of rounds by this date, he will be eligible to win the Junior Vardon. Any round played after April 23^rd will not be taken into consideration).

- Harvey Norman Week of Golf (Various Sydney Courses. 7^th – 11^th January, 2013)

- Subaru NSW Junior Championships, Incorporating State Age (Coffs Harbour GC and Sawtell GC. 2^nd – 5^th July, 2013)

- Srixon International (Maitland GC and Kurri Kurri GC. 1^st – 4^th October, 2013)

Golf NSW Events (Minimum of 1 Tournament)

- Lake Macquarie Amateur (Belmont GC. 26^th – 29^th January, 2013)

- NSW Medal (The Coast GC and Bonnie Doon GC. 30^th January – 1^st February, 2013)

National Championships (Minimum of 1 Tournament)

- Australian Amateur (Commonwealth and Woodlands GC, Victoria. 15^th – 20^th January ,2013)

- Australian Junior (Pinjarra GC, Western Australia. 10^th – 12^th April, 2013)

National Men’s Ranking Events (Minimum of 1 Tournament)

- Federal Open Amateur (A.C.T. Federal Golf Club, 8^th – 10^th November, 2013)

- Riversdale Cup (Victoria, Riversdale Golf Club, 7^th – 10^th March, 2013)

- Keperra Bowl (Queensland, Keperra Country Club, 15^th – 18^th October, 2013)

- SA Classic (Adelaide , Glenelg Golf Club, 4^th – 7^th April, 2013)

- Mandurah Open Amateur (Western Australia, Mandurah CC, 14^th – 16^th September, 2013)

Calculation of Scoring Average

Junior Vardon Average

All Scores are calculated to an average par of 70.
Scores returned on a course with an Australian Mens Course Rating of less than 70 will be increased by the number of strokes by which the rating is below 70.
Scores returned on a course with an Australian Mens Course Rating of more than 70 will be decreased by the number of strokes by which the rating is above 70.

(Example - Dale plays the Penrith Open and shoots a scratch score of 77. The Australian Mens Course Rating (AMCR) is 74. As the AMCR is above 70 by 4 shots, Dale's score is decreased by 4 shots. Dale's adjusted score is 73).

No Score Returned

In the event of a scorecard not returned by a player, the following will apply:

A player who starts a round and does not return their scorecard will be recorded as scoring 20 shots over their handicap.
A player who is disqualified for an incorrect score card or rule infringement will be recorded as scoring 20 shots over their handicap.
A player who cannot complete a round due to a valid reason (eg - illness or injury), will have no score recorded.
