What is the Jack Newton Junior Golf schools program?
The Jack Newton Junior Golf schools program is a reasonably new program that has two destinct parts.
The first part is the old "Go Go Golf" program where JNJG development officers teach school children the basics of the game of golf.
The second part is a new initiative called "teach the teachers". This is a program designed to upskill a large variety of primary and secondary teacahers from a number of schools around NSW. The teachers then have access to a coaching kit to teach golf at their local school.
Which Jack Newton Junior Golf tournaments should I be playing in?
Jack Newton Junior Golf has tournaments that cater for all members of Jack Newton Junior Golf.
Junior Jack Tour
The Junior Jack tournaments that are designed for all members who are under the age of 14 who either do NOT hold an official Golf Australia handicap or hold a Golf Australia Handicap of more than 20.
Club Tour
The club tour is a series of junior tournaments that are run by local golf clubs. These events are open to all juniors who hold a current Golf Australia handicap. Often these tournaments run a cadet section for players who are at the Junior Jack level.
JNJG Tour
The JNJG tour comprises of 6 Masters Events, a state medals, matchplay championships and four major events.
The Juniors Masters series is a series of two day weekend tournaments that are open to all members of JNJG who hold an official Golf Australia handicap.
The four major JNJG tournaments are the Harvey Norman Week of Golf, Subaru State Age Championships, Srixon International and JNJG Champions Trophy.
