Northern NSW

Newcastle, Hunter, Central Coast, Lower North Coast, Mid North Coast, Central North

The Territory

The Territory of Newcastle, Hunter, Central Coast is affectionately known as "Gods Country" with some of Australia's best beaches and coast line, tranquil water ways, amazing mountain ranges and some of the worlds greatest wineries.

The population is synonymous with activity and its obvious why some leading golf resorts and local clubs call the region home.  With perfect weather conditions most of the year why wouldn't you take up the great game of golf, after all it’s a "game for life."

The Lower and Mid North Coast stretch south from Bulahdelah, north to the magnificent Clarence Valley with Grafton as its hub.  Contained within the thin strip of land are some of the finest beaches, rainforest, dairying, agricultural and National Park areas in NSW.

From the white sand to the beautiful hinterland they also encompass splendid golf courses. The courses are in abundance with usually less than a half hour drive between neighbouring clubs.

The Central North stretches from the fine merino studs of Walcha though to country music capital in Tamworth, across the fertile Liverpool Plains, through the koala capital of Gunnedah and onto the cotton country at Boggabri. It is a very diverse area and boasts some of the finest inland courses in NSW.

All clubs warmly welcome any new potential junior member to join their Cadet schedule. A phone call to the nearest club would provide all the details on times, costs etc to becoming a junior member.

The Manager

Mark commenced golf as soon as he could walk.  He played AFL, Cricket, and did Athletics but always returned to golf.  His grandparents played and inspired him to work hard and enjoy the game.  Mark played in his early years at a local public course in Melbourne then became a member at the club his house backed onto; Kingswood Golf Club, now known as Peninsula-Kingswood Golf Club.  The course breads champions and will soon re-locate to their new home following a merger with Peninsula Country Club.  Mark become a PGA member in 2000 and worked overseas and in Australia before returning to his true passion, developing juniors and the future of the game.

Mark says, ‘my role is one of the most rewarding roles you could ask for, working, developing, assisting and inspiring youngsters to enjoy golf. Educate them to work hard and be true to yourself as golf provides more than just a sporting activity.  Golf trains you to become a great adult and leads to multiple opportunities both professionally and personally.’
